Middle School Program

Our Wednesday night philosophy tables drew a steady group of NYC teachers, who saw something worth bringing back to their own classrooms. Recognizing that these discussions build the skills their schools already prioritize (critical thinking, communication, empathy, and civic engagement), they adapted our format for middle school students.

The result is a 12-week program built around perennial questions: Education & Curiosity, Identity & Self, Friendship & Loyalty, Justice & Fairness, Happiness & Wellbeing, Attention & Technology, and Purpose & Growth. In these sessions we've watched students' curiosity and relationships grow in ways that inspire us.

If you'd like to bring a program like this to your school — or know a school that would — reach out to education@nyphilosophy.org.
