Code of Conduct
We believe that the shared pursuit of wisdom can surpass any individual efforts. This is only possible when civility, courtesy, and curiosity are upheld as the norm and practiced by everyone.
When you join our events, you agree to practice:
Goodwill: Assume good faith in others and reason in good faith yourself.
Charity: Interpret opposing views in their strongest form before responding.
Honesty: Say what you actually believe. Admit when you are wrong or uncertain.
Respect: Avoid phone use during discussions. Step outside if needed.
Event Admission & Removal Policy. Admission is at the sole discretion of event leadership. NYPS reserves the right to remove or refuse admission to any individual from any events for any reason. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for personal attacks, hate speech, harassment, nonconsensual contact, and persistent unwanted attention.
Photography & Filming: By attending NYPS events, you consent to being photographed or filmed by NYPS for documentation, archival, and promotional purposes. Attendees may not record, photograph, or film other attendees without consent.
If you witness or experience inappropriate behavior, you may report it by speaking to a designated event staff member or by emailing team@nyphilosophy.org. Reports will be handled confidentially and reviewed promptly.
